We hope all our Member Clubs and their Members stay safe and well and that we will soon be able to start planning how we will be able to start a new season.

 

22nd September 2021 – Applications for 2021/22 Season

The following letter has been sent out to Club Secretary’s and or Club Contacts.

Dear Secretary’s and Games Secretary’s,

We thank you all for returning the Covid-19 Questionnaires to us so that we could collate the information to help the League Management Committee decide on the best way forward to run a new season for the League.

From the responses received it has been agreed that the League will go ahead, starting on the 1st November, but we will not play any knockout matches, teams, individuals or pairs to reduce the number of interactions of players visiting different clubs.  This is also to allow the League matches to finish by the end of May by using weeks where knockouts would normally be played to be used for League matches, and meaning that next year we will be able to start on time in September.

The League Management Committee acknowledges that with the abandoned season last year no prize money has been spent, but the League has incurred expenses over the last 18 months, Website and email domain hosting and costs for setting up the new season, postage, stationary and printing etc., so it has been agreed that the entry fee for the League this year will be £20.00 per team.

All money paid in for knockouts will be held over until next year where all players who were entered in 2019 will automatically be entered or a substitute allowed.

We hope that you all understand that these difficult decisions have been taken by the Management Committee in what we feel is the best interests for the League and to try to bring social evenings back within our Member Clubs.  We know that we will not please everyone at this time and some teams may not wish to enter the League and have players no longer wishing to play whilst the pandemic is still ongoing, but we also know of lots of teams who are looking to get started.

The make up for the new season will be based on the current division that your teams were in during the 2019 season.  If your team has any questions about this then please contact the League Games Secretary to let him know.  He can be reached at games@southamptonsocialclubs.co.uk

We are emailing out as many of the forms as we can using the information as received in the questionnaires for speed and to reduce costs.  All forms can be returned by post or by email to the details on the forms.

Please return the YELLOW FORM for the League Entries with payment or a proof of BACS payment by the 8th October 2021.

Please return the PINK Players Registration Forms by 30th October 2021.

We are looking to arrange an Annual General Meeting for Thursday 21st October 2021 where only essential business will be carried out, and the handing out of fixture / result packs.  Further details will be sent out soon once this is arranged.

Note

The application forms pack was emailed out to the Club Secretary’s and or Club Contacts whose details were provided on the Covid-19 Questionnaires that were received back, for speed of getting them to the clubs.

The following list of Clubs have had a hard copy posted to the Secretary at the Club address, as we did not receive a Covid-19 Questionnaire back from them:  Churchills, Fawley RBL, Locks Heath Sports & Social, New Forest Nondescripts, Paultons Cricket Club, Sarisbury Green Social, Totton Rec.

A hard copy was also posted to Woolston Bowl and Salterns Working Mens as the email addresses provided did not work.

PLEASE CHASE UP YOU CLUB SECRETARY OR CLUB GAMES SECRETARY TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE RECEIVED THE FORMS AND KNOW WHAT TEAMS THEY NEED TO ENTER

If any Club Contact that was emailed needs a hard copy posting to them please let us know as soon as possible.

11th August 2021 – Information Requested for 2021-22 Season

Hello Everyone.

We hope you have all stayed safe and well over the last 18 months.

The League Management Committee has had several meetings over the last few weeks discussing how and when will be the right time to start the League again.

A questionnaire was posted out on the 10th August to all Club Secretary’s requesting information from them about the situation in each Member Club.  We have requested that the information is returned by the 31st August to aid us with our planning to restart the League Matches.

Please check with your own Club Secretary that they have received the questionnaire and will be returning it to us as soon as is possible.

If you have any questions, please email the League Secretary who will try to give you an answer.

There will be further updates in September once we have discussed the results of the questionnaires.
